Ø      Rob Stokes – Invitation to Climate, Coasts and Community Forum

Treasurer’s report:

Items arising:

Ø      Discussion of Pittwater Council’s Budget.  Decision to write to the new Mayor mentioning the lack of funds for the PoM in the Budget. 

Ø      Discussion of pedestrian safety issue at Church Point.  Decision to include in letter to the Mayor.

Ø      Naming of Espa’s Beach.  M. Doherty to write to Pittwater Council.

Ø      Pittwater Council’s Reference Groups – meetings to be held in November.

Ø      P Gleen reported on the Pittwater Estuary Working Group meeting.  Issues can be raised with Penny, Alan Yuille or Lisa Atkins.

Ø      Pittwater User Group.  Maritime regulation changes now in force.  Main change for small open boat users is that fire extinguishers must be carried on board.

Ø      Pittwater Council’s Constitutional Reform Advisory Committee meeting on 9 Nov.

Ø      Decision taken to monitor the extra amount of garbage in the summer, particularly at Morning Bay and Elvina wharves, and telephone the Council should a problem arise.

Ø      It was advised that the change to the E86 bus service was not affecting many of the community.

Ø      P Gleen to check with Wires regarding rental of Elliott Traps.  Committee voted that if not available Penny could spend up to $300 on traps for use by the community.

Ø      Indian Mynas at Church Point.  K Lambert to contact SIRA to work towards an eradication programme.

Ø      Decision taken not to write to Pittwater Council regarding car parking fee increases at Church Point.

 

New Business:

Ø      Proposal to prohibit consumption of alcohol at Thomas Stephens Reserve Church Point for 24 hours a day.  Decision taken to write to the General Manager stressing that it is historically a positive community amenity.

Ø      Evidence found of small fires being lit in the National Park on the North side of Lovett Bay.

Ø      Roadkill on McCarrs Creek Road.  Raise awareness of the problem on the website.

Ø      Green waste collection.  Encourage mulching and composting or possible use of the share shredder in Elvina Bay.

Ø      East Timorese visitor.  B Mahler Mills to follow up.
