Minutes of Committee Meeting

Saturday 31st January 3.00pm

The meeting opened at 3.15 pm

 

Attendees:, M Doherty, N Cowdery, K Lambert, B Anderson, M Wiener, M Vaughan,

Minutes approved with the addition of item that M Doherty to contact Pittwater Co regarding Hall’s wharf.

Treasurer’s report:

Ø      New resident in Morning Bay – Jason King

Ø      Book purchased as a “thank you” to Lisa Atkins

Ø      Current balance: $4,487.12

 

Items arising:

Ø      M Wiener, together with SIRA reps., met with Independent Panel for draft CPPOM.

He wrote a follow-up letter to them regarding the car parking issues as felt the Panel did not completely understand situation.  Details on Panel members in the Council Newsletter.  M Wiener to talk to Mark Ferguson & Mark Eriksson before AGM.

Ø      M Doherty to circulate re-worked Medivac Protocol to committee for POD & website.

Possibly laminate & put on wharves.

Ø      K Lambert to give recommendations regarding wharf shed drawings & circulate.

Ø      P Gleen to advise alternative arrangements regarding temp. closure of Hall’s wharf.

Ø      M Doherty talked to Mark Turnbull regarding Espa’s Beach letter.  Issue was not put to Council meeting.  Michael to write to Ian White, Patricia Giles & Bob Dunbar to pursue asap so as to have response for AGM.

Ø      M Doherty to circulate letter regarding Morning/Towlers Bay name duality.

 

New Business:

Ø      Federal Inquiry into Electoral Funding.  Committee felt it was a political issue for individuals to comment on.

Ø      Large increase in land values ref. land tax.  Raise at AGM.

Ø      Pittwater Youth Hostel bush regen. weekend – 2 nts (Fri 29 & Sat 30 May) free accom & meals.  Talks in the evenings on related topics.

Ø      Increase in dogs running loose.  Rented house in Morning Bay had 4 dogs.

Raise consciousness in BaysNews & on website.

Ø      Baywatch – early March distribution.

Ø      New POD.  West Pittwater pages to be written.

Ø      Request Council speed up removal of boats dumped on beach in Lovett Bay.

Ø      Residents request letter regarding vehicle use on Western Shore be circulated.

Ø      Date for the AGM set for Sun. 29 March at 10am with a breakfast served from 9am.  Special Meeting to be held prior regarding amendments to the Constitution.    Breakfast chefs – M Vaughan, K Lambert, M Morris
