Minutes of Committee Meeting

The meeting opened at 4.30pm.

1. Confirmation of record of previous meeting
The record of the meeting of 15 September was accepted (proposer: K Lambert, seconder: M Wiener).
2. Correspondence In:
2(a) Pittwater Council response to request for recognition of MorningBay as approved name. The response was not felt to be satisfactory
Action: M Doherty to respond. B Mahler-Mills to circulate Pittwater Council letter in Baysnews and invite interested residents from MorningBay to respond to Council.
3. Correspondence Out:
3(a) Letter to Heritage Council re Currawong
4. Treasurer’s report
The balance as of 22 October 2007 was $5481.19
5. Items arising from Minutes/ Review of Action Table
5(a) Church Point Plan of Management. The community meeting organised by Pittwater Council went really well with great representation from the off-shore community. The next step will be for the Councillors to assess the plan and for Council to work out how much it will all cost.
The subject of car-sharing was raised, with the possibility of Council dedicating a certain number of spots to help promote the scheme in addition to providing bike-parking.
Action: T Mottl to include an update on the CP Plan of Management in Bayswatch. L Woods to provide an outline of a car-sharing scheme to also be included and M Doherty to investigate bike-parking.
K Lambert to contact M Eriksson from Pittwater Council for minutes of the community meeting to put onto the WPCA website.
5(b) Consolidation of resident details.
Action: M Vaughn to contact M Anderson for an update.
5(c) Letter to Real Estate Agents. It was felt that a more welcoming information pack would be useful for new residents.
Action: T Mottl to work on drafting a welcome letter.
6. New Business
6(a) Resignation of J Bell-Beaumont. The resignation was accepted by the committee.
6(b) AGM. To be held on Sunday 10 Feb at 10am in ElvinaPark with breakfast provided at 9am. Bayswatch to be circulated in mid-January.
6(c) Recycling. Three residents contacted Pittwater Council to report that the waste contractors were dumping recycling directly into the rubbish. The Waste Officer at Council has written to the contractors and will be performing spot checks to ensure recycling is treated appropriately.
6(d) Constitutional matters. Deferred to next meeting.
6(e) Removal of rubbish from ElvinaPark. The rubbish that has been dumped at the park was raised as a concern. The meeting was informed that a Ranger had been called to deal with the issue and was dealing with the residents responsible.

The next meeting will be held on Saturday 19 January at 3pm at ElvinaPark
