Minutes of Committee Meeting

The meeting opened at 3.15pm.

 

Attendees: B Anderson, J Bell-Beaumont, P Beaumont, B Mahler-Mills, M Doherty, T Gill, K Lambert

1. Confirmation of minutes of previous meeting

The minutes of the meeting of 28 July were accepted as a true record (proposer: K Lambert, seconder: M Doherty).

Action: K Lambert to draft a letter requesting Council to identify council-owned plots of land on the western foreshores

The current balance stands at $5862.44

 

5. Items arising from Minutes/ Review of Action Table

5(a) Church Point Plan of Management. An informal meeting had been held with Cathy Kubany and Peter Altona of the CPRA to discuss their concerns over the amended SIRA plan for Church Point. A Yuille, T Gill and M Wiener had attended from the western foreshores. Their concerns were noted and passed on to SIRA for discussion.

Action: M Wiener to provide the committee with an up-date of the amended SIRA proposal at the next meeting. The possibility of holding a western foreshores community meeting to up-date the community be discussed (depending upon when the next GHD community meeting was to be held)

 

5(b) NE draft Subregional Strategy.

Action: K Lambert to draft a submission regarding accessory dwellings.

 

5(c) George Bennet interview with MV library.

Action: B Mahler-Mills to arrange a date for the interview

 

5(d) Organic Co-op at Mini-mart. K Lambert had spoken to the Romeo’s. Anyone interested in this business venture needs to contact them directly.

Action: B Mahler-Mills to publicise this opportunity in Baysnews

 

5(e) Purchase of de-fibrillator. On 28 Sept a representative from St Johns would be coming to Lovett Bay to demonstrate how to use a de-fibrillator. Some funding is available from St Johns and a group of residents at Lovett Bay have decided to purchase one.

Action: B Mahler-Mills to circulate the date of the demonstration and the possibility of other groups following suit

 

6. New Business

6.1 Resignation of B Robinson. The resignation of B Robinson was accepted by the commitee.

 

6.2 Heritage status of Currawong.

Action: K Lambert to draft a letter to the Minister for Planning requesting an assurance that no inappropriate road or marina development would be approved at the site

 

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be held on Saturday 20 October at 3pm at Elvina Bay Park.
